Amélie Barnathan — Clément Bagot — Les soeurs Chevalme — Claude Parent

Pour cette édition de Paréidolie, la Galerie 8+4 propose de répondre à l’urgence du monde par des oeuvres, et sans doute une forme de poésie, affrontant justement ce temps si pesant. Au coeur de son stand, seront présentés un ensemble rare et exceptionnel du grand théoricien de l’architecture que fut Claude Parent. Ses dessins et encres, loin de se présenter comme des prolongements de ses projets architecturaux, proposent au contraire une vision iconoclaste des grands problèmes – et des grandes utopies – de notre monde. En écho, Clément Bagot ou François Réau, jettent sur notre environnement un regard non dénué de spiritualité puisque chacun dans son domaine cherche à déployer l’invisible du réel : l’un (Bagot) en jouant simultanément sur l’infiniment grand et l’infiniment petit. Dans un style plus figuratif, les Soeurs Chevalme et Amélie Barnathan s’attaquent au poids de l’histoire passée ou contemporaine. Cette histoire c’est bien sûr celle de la post-colonisation en Afrique pour les Soeurs Chevalme et celle de la découverte des territoires immenses d’un inconscient féminin se libérant de chaines du patriarcat pour Amélie Barnathan. Ce stand devrait, par le rassemblement de ces artistes, constituer ainsi un événement au sein de la foire en ouvrant l’imaginaires des spectateurs aux grandes questions de notre société.

For this edition of Paréidolie, Galerie 8+4 is responding to the urgency of the world with works of art, and no doubt a form of poetry, that confront this very time. At the heart of its stand will be presented a rare and exceptional collection of works by the great architectural theorist Claude Parent. His drawings and inks, far from being extensions of his architectural projects, offer an iconoclastic vision of the major problems - and utopias - of our world. Echoing this, Clément Bagot and François Réau look at our environment in a way that is not devoid of spirituality, since each in his own field seeks to unfold the invisible of reality: one (Bagot) by playing simultaneously with the infinitely large and the infinitely small, the other (Réau) by studying the micro-effects of time on nature. In a more figurative style, the Chevalme sisters and Amélie Barnathan tackle the weight of past and contemporary history. For the Chevalme sisters, this history is of course that of post-colonisation Africa, and for Amélie Barnathan it is that of the discovery of the immense territories of a feminine unconscious freeing itself from the shackles of patriarchy. By bringing these artists together, the stand is set to become an event at the heart of the fair, opening up the public's imagination to the major issues facing our society.
