Créée en 1984 à Paris, la galerie est restée fidèle à l’impulsion donnée par sa première exposition, dédiée à l’oeuvre graphique de Robert Motherwell, en cultivant un rapport foisonnant et rigoureux aux oeuvres et aux artistes. Au fil des décennies l’identité de la galerie a affiné ses fidélités, tout en conservant comme ligne directrice de ne jamais rien s’interdire.

Bernard Jordan est un homme du déplacement ; arpenteur d’atelier, instinctif et éclectique, il a triplement situé sa galerie à Paris, Berlin et Zurich. Cet horizon reflète sa volonté d’ouvrir son regard et d’étendre son domaine d’action. Une ambition qu’il conduit avec simplicité, pour construire des ponts et inlassablement promouvoir les artistes qu’il défend.

Conjointement à la programmation et au suivi des expositions, la galerie a développé une vision éditoriale. Elle publie et co-publie plusieurs ouvrages par an pour accompagner chaque visiteur dans son désir d’approfondissement et de connaissance des artistes et des oeuvres. Ce faisant, Bernard Jordan met en pratique une idée de l’art comme compagnonnage, au quotidien et dans la durée.

Bernard Jordan is a man on the move – a studio wanderer, instinctive and eclectic, his gallery has three different locations, in Paris, Berlin and Zurich. This expansion translates a desire to broaden his gaze and extend his field of action. An ambition that he pursues with simplicity, building bridges and tirelessly promoting the artists he believes in.

In addition to organizing and supervising exhibitions, the gallery has developed an editorial vision. It publishes and co-publishes several books per year to accompany each visitor in their desire to learn more about the artists and their works. In doing so, Bernard Jordan brings to life an idea of art as a daily and long-lasting companionship.
