Florence Loewy, en activité depuis 1989, s’installe dans le Marais en 2001 où elle inaugure un espace librairie aménagé par le duo Jakob+MacFarlane et initie un programme d’expositions qui débute avec General Idea Boutique Coeurs Volants. Suivent des expositions personnelles de Michel François (2002), Francesc Ruiz (2003), Yann Sérandour (2007), Didier Rittener (2007), Sara MacKillop (2010), Claude Closky (2015), Charlie Jeffery (2016), William Wegman (2019), James Lee Byars (2019), ainsi que nombreuses expositions de groupe.

Depuis 2017, elle inverse les espaces librairie et galerie en précisant sa programmation côté gallery autour des artistes qu’elle représente : Joan Ayrton (Suisse), Romain Bobichon (France), Charlie Hamish Jeffery (Royaume-Uni), Valentin Guillon (France), Sara MacKillop (Royaume-Uni), Tim Maul (Etats-Unis), Silvana Mc Nulty (France), Caroline Reveillaud (France) Francesc Ruiz (Espagne), Erik wan der Weijde (Pays-Bas) et d’artistes invités pour des expositions personnelles ou collectives : Lucille Ulrich (2024), Chloé Quenum (2023), Céline Vaché-Olivieri, Clémentine Adou, Kévin Desbouis (Exposition La Fatigue, commissariat : Franck Balland, 2022).

À l’occasion du prochain Salon Paréidolie (2024), la Galerie Florence Loewy souhaite présenter le travail de l’artiste Romain Bobichon qu’elle représente depuis 2021.
Si le travail de Romain Bobichon est grandement nourri par la peinture, le dessin prend une position cousine qui apparaît par petite touche, incluant dessujets intimes et capricieux.

La Galerie présentera d’un geste radical, une sélection de dessins sur papier journaux, extraits d’une série au long cours (2023-2024) intitulée Pyjama Papers. Cette série se constitue à la manière d’un journal intime où les jours se répètent. Ces dessins sont des recherches de gestes, de couleurs et de compositions. Ils deviennent les mots d’un journal : des surfaces chaudes incorporées dans la trame complexe du quotidien. Ils mêlent des réflexions immédiates et des envies profondes. À l’intérieur de ce format identique (100 x 65 cm), les gestes se répètent comme une ritournelle colorée, dans des tons pastels ou sombres, les aplats et les tracés dessinent la pluralité du quotidien. Superposés les uns sur les autres, aimantés par le
haut, une chorégraphie de feuilles volantes révèle les différentes strates de cette installation dans laquelle chaque dessin est unique

Florence Loewy, in business since 1989, moved to the Marais in 2001, where she inaugurated a bookshop designed by the Jakob+MacFarlane duo and launched an exhibition programme of exhibitions, beginning with General Idea Boutique Coeurs Volants. This was followed by Michel François (2002), Francesc Ruiz (2003), Yann Sérandour (2007), Didier Rittener (2007), Sara MacKillop (2010), Claude Closky (2015), Charlie Jeffery (2016), William Wegman (2019), James Lee Byars (2019), as well as numerous group exhibitions.

Since 2017, it has inverted the bookshop and gallery spaces by focusing its gallery programming on the artists it represents: Joan Ayrton (Switzerland), Romain Bobichon (France), Charlie Hamish Jeffery (United Kingdom), Valentin Guillon (France), Sara MacKillop (United Kingdom), Tim Maul (United States), Silvana Mc Nulty (France), Caroline Reveillaud (France) Francesc Ruiz (Spain), Erik wan der Weijde (Netherlands) and artists invited for solo or group exhibitions: Lucille Ulrich (2024), Chloé Quenum (2023), Céline Vaché-Olivieri, Clémentine Adou, Kévin Desbouis (La Fatigue exhibition, curated by Franck Balland, 2022). To coincide with the forthcoming Salon Paréidolie (2024), the Galerie Florence Loewy would like to present the work of artist Romain Bobichon, whom it has represented since 2021.

While Romain Bobichon's work is largely inspired by painting, drawing takes on a cousinly position, appearing in small touches, including intimate and whimsical subjects.

In a radical gesture, the Galerie will present a selection of drawings on newspaper, taken from a long-term series (2023-2024) entitled Pyjama Papers. The series takes the form of a diary in which the days are repeated. These drawings are a search for gestures, colours and compositions. They become the words of a diary: warm surfaces incorporated into the complex weave of everyday life. They combine immediate reflections with profound desires. Inside the identical format (100 x 65 cm), the gestures are repeated like a colourful ritornello, in pastel or dark tones, with flat tints and lines drawing the plurality of everyday life. Superimposed on one another, magnetised from above a choreography of flying leaves reveals the different layers of this installation, in which each drawing is unique.
